How to interpret AquaBEHER indicators.
The web platform distributes results produced by AquaBEHER workflows. Exact input datasets, parameters and reference periods must accompany each production release.
Wet-season calendar
Onset and cessation identify agriculturally meaningful transitions rather than merely the first and last rainy days. Season duration is derived from these endpoints. Thresholds and persistence rules must be documented for each dataset version.
Soil-water balance
The balance accounts for water supply, atmospheric demand, modeled soil storage, runoff and drainage. Results depend on precipitation, temperature or radiation inputs, soil capacity and the selected evapotranspiration method.
Monitoring and outlooks
Indices and tercile probabilities should be interpreted relative to their climatological reference and forecast system. Probability is not certainty; forecast-skill information should be consulted wherever available.
